I guess DC has some formula for computing Harley’s fan base’s sentiments into some misguided fucked up singularity.

Harley + Joker = Sex life = Sexy.

Harley + Joker = Danger = Kamikaze psycho sex kitten.

Next time lets ask for a vow of chastity and a nun’s habit. It won’t be too bad DC’ll have to naughty it up some which way.

I am filled with anger over this!!! Ugh. Harley's normal costume is perfect and fans like it, there is no reason to change it! (tho I am kinda digging the side pockets with knives here. Touch of TDK influence?)

This is such a let down though after the good that was JxHQ's reunion in GCS. I had such hopes. *sob sob*

to be honest I am neither surprised nor let down. Harley has maintained a costume for a very long time in the comic world but her costume has always been a bit 'out of touch' with the true gotham city and while this one is a bit OUT THERE (or a lot out there I actually think it is more gotham than her previous one. Lets not forget that the times have changed AND that gotham city is basically a brothel, not a nice place at all. Most superheroes and villains have changed costumes MANY TIMES, thus it would be about time she changed hers too. Is it the original? Nooo but change ALWAYS happens in the comic book verse.

I don't know... I'm not happy about it but I'm more 'bleh' on it than most people here. Is she overly sexual? She's a comic book... of course she is. This costume would not work for say the animated show little kids used to watch but to be honest this is closer to something Nolan would have done. I'm more worried about her actions IN the comic book than her costume.

So does this mean no more JokerxHarley? I am normally ok with the re-imaginings of Harley. I love her new look in Arkham City. Just no tattoos. Another commenter said it best, her old outfit is out of place. However, the following things I do not like, the top. Could it have been I don't know, not a corset. And the hair, to me Harley is a blonde.

Her old outfit is barely 20 years old, and all other characters had theirs for much longer. How IS it out of place? it's simple, recognisable, practical, and suits her.

:( I don't understand fans who agree with this look. This is -not- Harley, she'd never wear it. She wouldn't have her hair in two colors(unless Joker suggested it lol), etc. There's nothing wrong with sexualizing her, but there's none of that sexy "innocence"about this image or her style. Oh well.

Suddenly, Harley's recent video-game looks don't seem all that off the wall.

Honestly, though? My horror at... that... dims when I contemplate the possibility that they could write the Joker/Harley connection out of this continuity altogether. Can you imagine? No Dr. Harleen Quinzel. No Puddin'. No 'mad love'. No Ivy. Just thinking about it nearly makes me need to sit down. (I almost added 'On a toilet.' there at the end, but that's just gross and DC seems to have cornered the market on tastelessness as of right now, so I'll spare you guys.)

Okay, postives and negatives...

I fucking love her face!!!! not the hair but how her face is drawn.
I can even appreciate the hair color split a little bit.
The Knives are cool but need to be elsewhere... not on the corset.
The best postive is the hope that given her being kidnaped into the suicide squad this is only a temporary outfit out of nessesity.

Now the bad... and I'm trying hard not to be ill when I write this....

The over sexualization. the loose floppy unrealistic corset. the red/purple crap I'm sick of it! its red and black damnit or hell go all the fucking way and make her green and purple. not this half and half shit. Or is that suposed to be black? I just took a second look and can't tell if its black or purple. The gun holdsters! Where the fuck did that come from? Adam Ant much? havent they used his image enough lately in the Knight/Squire spin off? is he getting any royalties to this? super anoying. I just want to scream! To take Harley from the Joker so soon and then do this to her? wtf? Are they just fucking with us fans or what? I don't see how this will help sales at all!

I know I'm rather late to the party, but...

Good god, DC. You killed my fandom with R.I.P. You killed my fandom when all you did was rehash storylines and obscure characters from the 40's, 60's and 80's under the pretense that nobody alives today will remember them and accuse you of being unoriginal.

But that? You've killed Harls for me, along with the last remnants of any respect I still held for you.

A simple description of this rebooted HQ design is that she looks like a rejected DeviantArt gawth girl/biker trash Harley, by an artist who is still stuck in the omfgz Anime phase. Or who thinks Nolanizing HQ is by giving her exactly what she has in this picture.

It looks like DC didn't even bother to use one braincell to come up with this so-called 'edgy & hip' design.

What really strikes me first is that she looks like a typical hey, we have to redesign this character to be hip & cutting edge for the millenium! I know, let's add studs, knives, and give her clothing 3 sizes too small because in their heads that means it's a cool design; to make her appealing to the target audience!

Harley's design may be considered a little dated, but essentially her original outfit - the skintight harlequin jumpsuit is what makes Harley Harley Quinn. Sure, redesign her jumpsuit, but keep it recognizable and clever. Don't go off the edge and redsign her as a trashy biker slut, when she isn't busy reminding you of other character designs from other franchises. It's bad enough that fans draw that shit and think it looks good, but what are we meant to think when it becomes the official design?

I look at this Harley, and what goes through my head is I've seen that before, they were influence by _____ fandom, As well as god knows how many anime and fake/western anime characters have the same look.

Am I the only one who can't wait to see their (if there is one) reboot of The Joker, so I can continue to wallow in misery? Oh, wait, they kind of did. That cartoon The Batman, with his dreadlocks and everything. :T Thank christ they cancelled that High School DC project.

Lastly - I'm sick of artists thinking they are clever by intentionally designing a corset or bodice to not work like a corset or bodice should. It was original when it was first conceived decades ago. Stop abusing it. It's not clever or hot.

TL;DR. Fuck you, DC, and your pandering to the gawth slut masses who don't know a thing about good character design.
